How does this art make you feel?
The Place is a brand-new arts and business centre built on the site of the former Manor Hotel in the Sunniside. Artist Kathryn Hodgkinson designed the distinctive glass sun shields, which can be moved to provide shade to the inner rooms. The panels depict the in-depth research undertaken by the artist’s historic architectural details from the surrounding area. The glass panels sit successfully within this contemporary building design creating a stunning example of merging contemporary design with traditional glass technique.
